  • How to Reply
ARE YOU SIGNED IN? Signing in to Twitmart makes it easier for you to reply to postings and also enables the post author to reply to you with a private message. For ads posted by Twitmart members an "email" or private note option will always be available - even if the user is not signed in and even if they don't have a Twitter account at all. When using Twitmart, your reply will identify you by your twitterID. If you wish to remain more anonymous, consider creating another Twitter account and building a reputation for that purpose. E.g. #personals. Many Twitter clients (twhirl, tweetdeck, seesmic, echofon, tweetie) make it easy to manage multiple twitter identities. Just double check who you are logged in as.
    • Click either the "log-in with Twitter to Retweet, Forward etc." button or "Sign-in" on the top right.
    • Allow the application Twitmart to connect to your Twitter account. Note no password is required.
    • You are now logged into Twitmart with your TwitterID.
  • Compose your Reply
    • Visible in the reply area is who (TwitterID) this reply will be sent to and what account you're sending from (your TwitterID).
    • Enter the "subject" text for your reply. This is what is sent over Twitter and what the post author will initially see when they receive your reply.
    • You may edit what is in the "subject" line. For a short questions this may be all the information that is required.
    • Optionally enter additional "message" details and information you want to send to the author of the post. Many questions and requests can't fit into 140 characters. There is no 140 character limit here.
    • Optionally add an image and make your REPLY on the Twitmart classified more powerful.
    • Note: if you're signed in with your TwitterID, there is no need to provide an "email" or "phone number" in your "message" for the author to reply back to you. Replies naturally are at the author's discretion.
  • Send Your Reply
    • Multiple reply buttons may be available. Replies may be public or private.
    • If the author of the post is a Twitmart user you will have an option to send them a "private" reply. Private replies notifications are sent by Twitmart as a DM to the author. Only the author can view this reply. Your reply will be visible on the post and may be part of a threaded conversation.
    • Public replies will be tweeted @postauthor through by Twitmart and will appear as a Tweet by you. There may be benefits in making your reply public as then you can also share it with others.
    • Your reply is sent as soon as you press "send" and you will see a confirmation screen.
    • You will be returned to the post scroll down and you can see your comment has been registered. It will be marked private - only visible to you and the author.

Public vs. Private Replies

So-called "public" Replies: The author will receive a Twitter reply (sometimes called an "@ message") if you send a "public reply" - this @ message reply will contain a link to the full reply with full message body content and images (if any). These replies are referred to as "public" because they existing in the Twitter timeline and will appear in Twitter searches, on Google, etc. These message will also be collected into a public discussion thread associated with the posting. This can be very helpful in providing a general FAQ about the listing for all users.

Private Replies: If you send a "private" note, the author will receive a Twitter "direct message" - these messages are only visible to the author. They are not part of the Twitter timeline and will not appear on Google, or elsewhere. Nor will they be visible to Twitmart users other than the sender (you) and recipient (author of the post).
